Locally anchored projects

The Solaqua Foundation focusses its projects on Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world. Projects are aimed at improving the quality of drinking water through various approaches. For Solaqua, "sustainability" is more than a buzzword. When implementing projects, the foundation works in close partnership with different organisations.

Solaqua

The Solaqua Foundation supports projects aimed at long-term improvements in the quality of drinking water. Working with people locally, Solaqua, for instance, explores cost-efficient ways of purifying and storing water safely at home. This is often only possible when accompanying measures, such as hand washing, are also addressed, or when local merchants, for example, can be motivated to stock the necessary products. The idea is that the improvements achieved do not come to an end when the project terminates, or shortly thereafter; the inclusion of local populations and authorities, and the use of market methods and further measures, secure the basis for lasting success.

Since it is often easier to change children's behaviour than that of adults, schools are also an important platform for our foundation.
